The stick is one of the oldest weapons used by humans, because it is easy to produce. Even though it is a very technical weapon, its common use can often be instinctive. The Chinese considered it one of the four great weapons, together with the spear, the saber, and the jian sword. It gave rise to a number of other weapons. In Pa-Kua, it is taught as a Martial Art.
